Instruction for Authors

Fragmenta Naturae (formerly Nature Journal) publishes original articles and contributions in the field of botany, zoology, biodiversity, conservation biology and landscape ecology. Manuscripts are considered for publication under the assumption that they have not been published or submitted elsewhere. Manuscripts are evaluated by reviewers whose decision is binding.

Submissions are firstly reviewed by Editors for suitability for the Journal, general quality, and potential contribution. Editors then recommend further peer review, or rejection. Those papers recommended for full peer review are then sent for review to appropriate reviewers by the subject Editor. Such manuscripts are anonymously reviewed according to the guidelines of the Polish Ministry of Science (double blind reviewing procedure with two reviewers)

Authors are requested to suggest the names of two potential referees, accompanied by their e-mail addresses. However, the editors are not constrained to select a referee from those suggested.

Manuscripts should be prepared in English, double-spaced. All pages should be numbered. An electronic file based on Microsoft Word 97 or more recent version is sufficient to submit manuscript. Good quality printouts with a font size of 12 pt are required in Times New Roman. Tables, figures and appendices should be typed on separate sheets. Each paper should include a title page with the title of the paper, name(s) of author(s), complete affiliation(s), mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address of the author to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent. While preparing the manuscripts follow this order: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Key Words, Main Text, References, Figure captions and then Tables.

The manuscript as electronic file should be submitted to the editorial office: Prof. Arkadiusz Nowak, Oleska St. 22, 45-052 Opole, Poland; e-mail: anowak(at)uni.opole.pl

Literature citations should be in chronological order as follows: Smith (1920) or (Smith 1920; Wright and Wrong 1995). For two authors use „and” not „&”. For three or more authors use the first author followed by „et al.”, in the text. All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references with alphabetical order. References should be given in the following form:
